UK Search Awards 2017: Impression Shortlisted in 5 Categories

This article was updated on: 07.02.2022

The UK Search Awards are the best known awards for search marketers – including SEO, PPC and strategic integrated approaches.

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Impression has been shortlisted in 5 categories, these being:

Best Large SEO Agency

According to the UK Search Awards website, this award is for “recognition of an outstanding large SEO agency with 26 or more staff that demonstrates consistently great understanding and use of SEO.”

For this one, we put forward various of our search marketing campaigns within our application, including a high value ecommerce client, a high growth B2B client and a lead generation client that has seen significant wins as a result of our focus on technical excellence alongside content creativity and targeting.

Best Large PPC Agency

Having taken home the trophy for Best Small PPC Agency at the European Search Awards in early 2017, this award would be further proof of our growth as an agency, as this time, we’re in the large category. According to the UK Search Awards website, this award is for “recognition of an outstanding large PPC agency with 26 or more staff that demonstrates consistently great understanding and use of PPC.”

For this one, we gave examples of high and lower budget campaigns where we’ve driven returns well above what our client expected through the use of best practice campaign management and an innovative approach to targeting, automation, script use, programmatic tools and consumer psychology.

Best Large Integrated Search Agency

This award is particularly important to us because it recognises an integrated approach to search marketing that removes the ‘silos’ seen in many agencies and instead focuses on using paid and organic methods to compliment and support one another. This means integration not only of technical SEO but of creative content campaigns, digital PR, CRO, and on the paid side, not only looking at AdWords but as use of Bing, social media and niche platforms, all working harmoniously to drive a common goal.

According to the UK Search Awards website, this award is for “recognition of an outstanding large integrated search agency with 26 or more staff. That demonstrate either, a consistently great understanding and use of online and offline activity, or consistently maximise search impact through joined up SEO and PPC campaigns.”

Most Innovative Campaign

The nomination for this category is really exciting to us, because innovation really lies at the core of what we do. The specific example we submitted relates to our client Nu Heat, which supplies underfloor heating for home and commercial use.

The innovation in this campaign is primarily driven by our on page strategy and the use of evolving technologies to drive significant gains for our client. According to the UK Search Awards website: “As established as the Search Industry is, the game is changed on a regular basis. Whether that is an algorithm tweak, a new technology, or a change to the SERP layout. Being innovative and staying ahead of the competition is critical for businesses looking to dominate the search results. Tell us about how an innovative approach brought about impressive results for you or your clients.”

Best Use of Search – B2B

This category recognises the use of search marketing to help a business sell to other businesses. The specific example we put forward for this is our client Company Address, who we’ve helped to grow their business from scratch to a highly lucrative B2B company within the space of two years, by focusing on on page and off page excellence throughout. You can read our case study here.

According to the UK Search Awards website, this award is for “recognition of a campaign that has successfully enhanced the visibility of a website in B2B.”

What do the UK Search Awards actually mean?

As our colleague Edd once said, “we’re not in it for the awards”. But equally, we recognise that for any business either working with or considering working with a digital marketing agency, trust is such an important factor in that decision.

We do our upmost and pride ourselves on our transparent approach, using data to prove the value of what we do and to inform our strategies so we always get great results for our clients. Winning awards like these is an awesome accolade for our team, but perhaps more so, is further proof to you of our potential to help your business, too.
