Merry Christmas from Impression!

This article was updated on: 07.02.2022

We hope you’ve had a fantastic 2018 and would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

It’s been an incredible 12 months for the team here at Impression. From moving into our new office in January to winning the title of Best Large SEO Agency at the European Search Awards and the UK Search Awards, to hosting the first Impression-Fest summer party to travelling the UK and Europe to meet new clients, we’ve had a blast!

It’s not just about us though. In 2018, we continued to work with some fantastic clients who have been with us for years, delivering against mature search marketing goals and investing in long term campaigns for the best possible results. We also welcomed new clients, many of whom were already some way along their digital marketing journey and looking for support in advancing their progress or adding new components to their strategies. Thank you to everyone who has worked with us this year; we look forward to continuing to work together into 2019 and beyond.

As well as having the pleasure of working with great clients, the Impression team has been busy building our own CSR programme. We’ve always been big on charity events but 2018 marked the year where we really solidified our offering, which on the whole comprises three elements – support, fundraise and retain.

The ‘support’ element refers to our commitment to supporting business growth and the evolution of digital skills here in the UK. This has been manifested this year through a range of events and workshops which we’ve conducted often alongside partner organisations such as Nottingham City Council, Nottingham Partners, Status Social, Enabling Innovation and the Big House Programme. Through these, we’ve shared digital marketing tips and conducted workshops with businesses of all shapes and sizes, particularly in the Notts area. Further to this, we’ve worked extensively with the University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University, Loughborough University, the University of Derby and Leicester Du Montfort University to provide Digital Insights Days and skills workshops to students and graduates, helping to support the development of digital skills and providing inspiration for those considering a career in the digital sector.

The ‘fundraising’ element is all about raising funds, which we’ve done as individuals and as a team. We’ve got quite a few runners in the team, so many of them – including Becky and Chloe – ran races in order to raise funds. We hosted bake sales, did skydiving challenges and wore our Save The Children Christmas jumpers to raise money throughout the year. We have also donated the money we would normally have put to Christmas gifts for our clients into a donation to Emmanuel House, and gathered clothes and gifts which were donated to Hound Lodge.

The ‘retain’ element is all about retaining talent in Nottinghamshire as part of our work to build it as a digital hub. As such, we’ve worked again with local universities, colleges and the Council to continue to inspire the next generation of digital marketers in the region, as well as welcoming new team members from across the UK.

We’ve also had some exciting personal developments in the team, including Rebecca Tee’s new baby boy, various team members buying houses, plus continued professional development through awards and accreditations.

It’s been an exciting time and we’re glad to have been able to share it with you. Here’s to a brilliant 2019 for all!
