Impression Wins Gold Prize in Microsoft ‘Get to Green’ Contest

This article was updated on: 07.02.2022

Impression recently took part in Microsoft’s exclusive “Get to Green” contest. Aligned to their sustainability mission, Microsoft teamed up with Ecosia, their Microsoft syndication partner, to plant 100 trees on behalf of each organisation that participated.

The main aim of the competition was to ensure that our clients were one step ahead of the competition with the new feature adoption. Features such as in-market audience allow our clients to target the most relevant users that are in the market for a particular good or service. As Impression is a Select Microsoft partner, we can enrol into these beta programs to ensure our clients’ performance is maximised through Microsoft Advertising.

The Competition

  1. New Accounts – Any new Microsoft Advertising account that got created during the competition period would earn 20 points. Our Premier Microsoft Advertising Partner status also entitled us to free Microsoft Advertising trials to test the success of new accounts and features.
  2. Feature Adoption – To keep our clients ahead of the competition, it’s vital that we adopt new features for both Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising. We would achieve 10 points for growing our company-wide feature adoption by 5% in the below categories, OR 20 points for 100% adoption of the features:
    • Audience Targeting
    • Dynamic Search Ads (DSA)
    • UET
    • Conversion Tracking
    • Syndication
    • Auto Bidding
    • Microsoft Shopping Campaigns

The Results

Impression achieved a total of 4,010 points (primarily driven by feature adoption across multiple accounts) – placing 1st in the UK and 8th across all of the EMEA region.

To further endorse our efforts, Microsoft planted 100 trees on our behalf, contributing to their overall goal of planting 250,000 trees in 2020. We have also earned a Microsoft “Sustainability Champion” badge for our contribution towards the cause and have been gifted a team eco-experience to celebrate!

A huge thank you to our Microsoft Advertising account manager, Lorenzo Facinelli, for all of his help.
