Free workshop to provide a boost to businesses in Nottingham

This article was updated on: 07.02.2022

Entrepreneurs will learn how to grow their online and offline business presence in Nottingham at a two-hour workshop and networking event next month.

The free workshop, which takes place on November 16, is a collaboration between digital marketing agency Impression, Nottingham Trent University and The University of Nottingham, with support from the Institute of Directors (IoD) and D2N2.

Ron Lynch, IoD East Midlands regional director, is a long term supporter of Nottingham business, having worked closely with directors and local students through the IoD. He will discuss the importance of growth and how to create a growth mindset in a company, followed by ‘Five ways to grow your business online: essential tools and techniques’ by Aaron Dicks, manager director at Impression.

City centre-based Impression was founded by Tom Craig and Aaron Dicks in 2012, and has since grown to more than 20 digital marketing professionals across Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Pay-Per-Click (PPC), PR, content marketing, design and website development.

Mr Dicks said: “We are big advocates of city, and are keen to help other local businesses grow by sharing our knowledge on all things digital marketing. Nottingham is a great university city too; as a company we’re committed to improving graduate retention here in Nottingham and would encourage others to do the same.”

Staff from Nottingham Trent University and The University of Nottingham will also explain the opportunities available to local businesses in the form of student placements and graduate schemes, with Impression PPC manager, Liam Wade, sharing his experience on the company’s two-year graduate scheme.

The workshop will take place at Broadway Cinema from 12pm to 2pm and will be followed by a free buffet lunch and networking opportunity.
