In aid of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, we held a coffee and cake morning at the Impression office on Friday 29th September.
The more cake that was baked the more money we could raise and the Impression team took this very seriously.
With Edd claiming that his brownies were the ‘best brownies in the world’ and Aaron doubting his round banana loaf, the event brought on some friendly competition that Paul Hollywood would have shut down very quickly.
Eleven bakers spent their Thursday evening mixing, baking, and icing! There was an array of cakes on sale including Nutella & red velvet cupcakes, gooey double chocolate brownies, a salted caramel cake, macaroons and a banana loaf to name only a few!
For every donation made, Impression would match it and in total, we raised over £500 for the cancer charity! Huge thanks go to everyone who attended and who contributed to that incredible total.
Speaking of the event, Tom Craig, co-founder of Impression, said:
“We invited some local clients and friends of Impression and are thrilled that so many people made the effort to come to the office that early.
“Everyone was excited about baking and it was great to see so many people getting involved – there was a lot cake, which was also a huge bonus!
“Of course, as well as the cake, the main benefit of events like this is that it enables us as a company to give back to the local community and to support a really important charity. Cancer is something that touches most people’s lives and anything we can do to help raise awareness and donate funds to treatment and cures is really important to us, too.
Everyone has been incredibly generous with their donations and we will match everything made on the day. We’re looking at holding more similar events in the future as a great way to raise money for charity and an excuse to bake! We are hoping to take part in national charity days such as Movember and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”
The event was a great success, but we may never find out whose cake was the best.
