Before joining the digital PR team at Impression, I worked as a journalist – and later a business correspondent – on a daily regional newspaper. My role included arranging and carrying out interviews, writing in a series of squiggles (yes, shorthand still exists!), and crafting articles for the next day’s newspaper and monthly business magazine, among many other things.

Journalism and PR go hand in hand, and having spent time as a reporter I have a better understanding of what journalists like (concise, relevant pitches) and what they don’t like (phone calls, for the most part). At Impression, I work with such a variety of clients that no two days are ever the same; my job is to get them featured in their target publications, by coming up with creative digital PR campaigns that will also have a positive impact on their SEO. 

When not at work, I can usually be found curled up on the sofa, engrossed in the latest thriller book, or ‘binge-watching’ TV series on Netflix – my guilty pleasure!
